What Installation Day Actually Looks Like
A straight answer, no fluff.
Our fitters carry the materials already aqquainted with the room – laminate must be given 48 hours in the room where it’s fitted, or else, it could bend – we have never and will never skip this.
First off, rip out the old floor. Carpet, knackered lino, whatever’s covering the floor. Then examine the subfloor.
Nice and level?
Excellent.
Bumps and dips?
We correct them before we start laying any slats. This stage will require some time, and this is the stage that the cheap-blokes will rush.
Next is underlay. It mutes the sound, your downstairs neighbour will be secretly grateful. Then the actual laminate is laid, a strip at a time, starting away from a wall.
Normal living room, half a day. A whole flat – day and a half. We clear away after ourselves – not leaving you to vacuum a trail of sawdust at 9pm.
